Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
1. Nationality
- Must be a citizen of an eligible partner country
- Must be nominated by your country’s sending partner authority
- Cannot be a Hungarian citizen
2. Educational Qualification
For Bachelor’s:
- High school diploma completed
- OR in final year of high school
- Good academic record (65%+ recommended)
For Master’s:
- Bachelor’s degree completed (3-4 years)
- OR in final year of bachelor’s
- Must graduate before program starts
For PhD:
- Master’s degree completed
- Strong research background preferred
- Publications help (not mandatory)
3. Age Limit
- No official age restriction
- Open to all ages
- Most applicants are 18-35 years old
4. Academic Performance
- Good academic record required
- No fixed minimum CGPA
- Generally 60-65% or above preferred
- Lower grades accepted if you have strong profile
5. English Language
- IELTS: 5.5 – 6.0 minimum (depends on program)
- TOEFL iBT: 72-80 minimum
- Other tests accepted
- Some programs may waive this if you studied in English
6. Country Nomination
- You MUST be nominated by your country’s sending partner
