180 scholarships are offered for 2026/2027.

Bangladesh students: Bangladesh is among the top countries. Many Bangladeshi students win this scholarship every year.


Target Group

This scholarship is ONLY for students from low and middle-income Commonwealth countries.

Eligible Countries Include:

Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Jamaica, Fiji, Samoa, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Cameroon, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Eswatini, and 20+ other countries.

Important: You must be from an eligible Commonwealth country. EU countries are NOT eligible.

Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

1. Nationality

  • Must be a citizen of an eligible Commonwealth country
  • OR have refugee status from a Commonwealth country
  • Must be living permanently in that country

2. Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree completed (3-4 years)
  • Degree classification: First class OR Upper second class (2:1)
  • If you have lower second class (2:2), you need a Master’s degree

3. Financial Need

  • You must be unable to afford UK study without this scholarship
  • This is a strict requirement
  • Cannot be living or studying in a rich country

4. Mobility Requirement

  • Must NOT have studied or worked in a high-income country for 1 year or more
  • Cannot have lived in UK/USA/Canada/Australia for more than 1 year

5. Age Limit

  • No age restriction
  • Open to all ages

6. English Language

  • IELTS: 6.5-7.0 minimum (depends on university)
  • TOEFL iBT: 90-100 minimum
  • Other tests accepted
  • Valid within 2 years

7. Development Impact

  • Must show how you will help your home country
  • Must commit to return home after studies
